The continent of Europe is composed of 45 different countries, which is nearly a quarter of the number of all countries in the world, and half of the OECD-member countries are European countries. After the European Union was formed, EU countries have had a big influence on the world economy. It’s no exaggeration to say that European countries lead the world nowadays. Besides, European countries are known not only for their developed economy, but for their colorful long history and diverse cultures. Amid growing recognition of Europe, lots of Korean university students choose Europe as a travel destination. There are three reasons that Europe is the most popular travel destination among undergraduates in Korea: they can enjoy traveling to several countries at once, they can communicate using only English, and European countries have many beautiful tourist attractions and historic sites.

First of all, Europe is the most popular travel destination among university students because they can enjoy traveling to several countries at once. Unlike other countries, tourists can pass through the border between European countries only with a visa. It is not too much say that there is no boundary between countries. After most of the European countries entered the European Union, it became free to move to one another country in Europe. As a result, most tourists visit at least more than seven countries when they travel to Europe. Same currency is one more cause that makes many Korean students prefer Europe as a travel destination. They don’t have to exchange foreign currency in each country because they all use the same currency, which is the Euro.
