Your goal is to find a school that will meet your child`s needs for future. But how do you choose between a public school and a private school? Let`s see how thins are different.
One major different is they are cost differently.
Public schools do not charge tuition. They are funded through federal, state and local taxes. When you pay your taxes, you are actually paying for your child`s education and the education of other children in your community.
However, Private schools cost the money. Private schools do not receive tax revenues. But instead funded through tuition, fundraising, donations and private grants. And it`s very depend on where do you live. Big city, small town... the bigger city you live, the tuition is very high. One of my friend was in big city and she went to a public schools. She paid almost $300 for a month because I was in small town.
Another difference is the Admission rule.
Public schools admit all children. By law, public schools must educate all children, including students with special needs. To enroll in a public school you simply register your child by filling out the necessary paperwork.
But Private schools are selective. They are not obligated to accept every child, and in many private school admission is very competitive. They look over your grade, attitude and all about your from your past school record.
A third difference is both schools have different style of curriculum.
Public school offer a general program, designed for all children, which usually includes math, English, reading, writing, science, history and physical education. In addition to these key subjects, many public schools offer programs in music and art. In a public school, the substance of what children learn is mandated by the state. And in most states learning is measured through standard tests.
