Amazon.com Inc. is a company that runs retail shopping online bringing in various products fro consumers to shop for. They have four major segments:
1. Books
2. Music and DVD/Video
3. International
4. Electronics, Tools and Kitchen and Services
Books, Music and Video segment includes retail sales from www.amazon.com. International includes retail sales from four internationally focused websites: www.amazon.de, www.amazon.co.uk, www.amazon.fr, www.amazon.co.jp. Electronics, Tools and Kitchen segment includes the Toys and Games too. The Service segment is concerned with commission, fees and other Business to Business strategic alliances. Their first segment counted for 48% of 2002 revenues, 30% were for the second segment, 16% for the third and 6% for the last. They have grown to be among the most popular E-tailers.
