Thermodynamic system
The reason why we need to understand thermodynamic systems is that the boundaries vary depending on how we define them. The system is largely divided into a closed system and an open system. A closed system means that the substances do not pass through the boundary, and only energy can move through the boundary of the system. On the contrary, an open system means that is accessible to both a substance and an energy
Assuming a system is closed, the first law of thermodynamics is called the law of conservation of energy. This energy isolated through the boundary is constant. Energy can be converted into something else but cannot be created or destroyed. In a thermodynamic meaning, the change of internal energy is equal to the value obtained by subtracting work from the supplied heat.
