Entering into the era of optical electronics, we may be living, consciously or unconsciously, under the influence of various colors as there is no escaping color. In first dimension, we accept the meanings of various colors as they are, but in second dimension, we interpret them by means of our experiences or objective thoughts. Colors are not just what they appear, but essentially what is reconstructed in our consciousness.
According to L. Cheskin, a noted authority on color, a human's response to shape is rather rational, but is very sensual to color. Namely, as shape generally appeals to human reason and color tend to human emotion, as such, color leaves strong impression and lasting memory. Further, it is said that 90% of human behaviors are aroused by emotions while the remaining 10% by reasons. In summation, it is believed that the overall influence of color on consumers’ decision making is very strong.
