1. Abstract
The purpose of this experiment is to determine physical constants of HCL and relate to the molecular properties just as bond strength and bond length. The observation of the frequencies of transitions between the vibrational states of a molecule gives information about the flexibility of their bonds. Rotational spectroscopy provides exact details of bond lengths and bond angles of molecules in the gas state. Vibration and Rotation of the molecules are related, as molecular rotation is either accelerated or retarded by a vibrational transition. In this experiment, we will interpret the most intense absorption band in the infrared region.
