본문내용
According to the heartbeat, the electric activation generated by the myocardium can be measured with an ammeter on suitable locations on the body surface. The current obtained in the way is called “Electrocardiogram”, ECG. The small electrodes attached to the skin detect and measure the heart muscle depolarization caused by re-fraction during a cycle of heart beats and the small electrical changes that result in it and display it as a voltage graph over time. ECG signal is used to diagnose several heart abnormalities, including heart rate disorders, myocardial ischemia and infractions, and electrolyte disorders.
ECG has four main components, P, QRS complex, T, and U. P waves means atrial depolarization, and the QRS complex appears when the ventricle is de-polarized. T-wave appears during ventricular repolarization and U-wave appears when papillary muscles repolarize. There is a difference in the speed of each ECG waves in a cycle of heartbeat, which results in each wave having a relatively unique frequency range.
