① Background
“Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic procedure to assess the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them (motor neurons).” ¹ In other words, the electrical changes within the muscle is detection of muscle's response to nerve stimulation. Since the muscles are controlled by nerves and fine currents are always flowing in the muscles themselves, checking them with a needle or an electrode and recording them with an electromyography shows whether the muscles are working properly from the peripheral nerves to the muscle itself. Therefore, if you have multiple problems with peripheral nerves and muscles, you can examine them accurately with an electromyography. The purpose of the test is to find muscle conditions that lead to muscle weakness, such as muscle contraction and neurological disorders.
② Observation
The subject’s weakest EMG activity of dominant forearm is low than non-dominant forearm and strongest EMG is higher in dominant.
