It has been already 16 years since Pyongyang claimed to the international society that it possessed nuclear weapon. During this time period, international society has been struggling to lead DPRK to renounce their nuclear program with an approach of the carrot and the stick. Not only using the carrot such as providing the light-water nuclear reactor and valuable resources in which DPRK leadership wanted, international society especially initiated by the United States and ROK also firmly switched DPRK by imposing the international sanctions through the UNSC or unilateral sanctions. Nevertheless, DPRK leadership has been flauntingly proceeding their nuclear program, and even recently carried out their 4th nuclear test on last 6 of January under the name of hydrogen bomb according to DPRK’s official statement. International society immediately defined it as a serious provocation to the international peace, and responded to make a stronger version of sanction under UNSC, though there had been still differences in the point of view between UNSC members.
