1. Grashof link
1.1.1. What is the link length ratio?We made Grashof link with four bars having 13, 11, 11, and 7 holes respectively, but the link length ratio can't be the ratio of the number of holes. That's because the link length is directly proportional to the number of holes minus one, not the number of holes. Thus, the link length ratio is 12, 10, 10, and 6, which can be simply 6, 5, 5, and 3. To confirm whether the ideal ratio is coincident with real ratio or not, I measured real values. Because the joints connect bars and make circular motion (not all joints make full rotation). The centers of the joints should be considered as the end of the bar when we think the link length ratio. I measured gaps between the centers of the joints for each bar with a ruler, and I got about 9.6cm for 13 hole bar, 8cm for 11 hole bar each and about 4.8cm for 7 hole bar. The link length ratio from the measurement by my hand is almost identical to the ideal ratio, which is 6, 5, 5, and 3.
