1. Introduction
Why did I pick this topic?
Many people in Korea usually agree that the method of evaluating students is the most important topic when we make education policies. It sounds very reasonable because so many problems that we have are caused by our evaluation system. To get a high score and rank only, students study just some contents which would be included in exams, so it make them compete each other. It means if we change our evaluation system, then we can also change this situation.
Here is the reason that I picked the topic, the Admission officers. This policy emerged with that idea as a solution. So In this report, I would like to consider the admission officers policy, then think about the limitations, alternatives for that, and by extension, how we can solve the educational problems we have. For these things, I will compare this system to United States, because they created it first, and they have been practiced that for almost 100 years, so they already experienced many trials and errors. Of course, now they are changing too. Moreover, I would cover one more thing about these two countries; the issue of autonomy of schools. Do the schools in Korea should have more autonomy than now? I will think about this comparing to United States.
