This article offers information briefly that explains whether the achievement goals with students with ADHD are actually different from students without attention deficiency impairment. The researchers examine which goals bring the most effective scholastic achievement results among mastery goals, performance-approach goals, and performance-avoidance goals in 6th grade students with ADHD. They found out that performance-approach goals are essential to students with ADHD and that the goals could help them to increase their school studies’ motivation. The researchers are financed by Virginia Tobacco Settlement Foundation and have studied since 1982 with a special focus on the achievement goals of students with ADHD. They are the professors at the department of Psychology in James Madison University.
