The purpose of this study was th survey and analyze physical education value orientation of elemenrary school teachers, and was based on five value orientation that Jewett and Bain(1985) classified into the disciplinary mastery, social reconstruction. learning process. self-actualication. and evological intergration. For the purpose of this study the subjects were 127 elemenraty school teachers and physical education specialists in Pusan city.This study was analyzed differences of value orientation by sex, teaching experience, levels in charge, and elementary school teachers-elemenraty physical education sperialists The research instrument that was used in this study was Kim, Youn-Hee's the value orientation inventory. The data were analyzed by subprogram with t-test of the SAS/PC(<.05)
On the basis of the analyzed data, the following conclusions were drawn:
1. Elementary school teachers were highly recongnized in the disciplinary mastery. ecological intergration, learning provess and self-actualization, social reconstruction value orientation was the lowest recongnized.
2. There were differences in disciplinary mastery value orientation between male teachers and female teachers.
3. There were differences in socual reconstruction, and learning process value orientation between novice teachers and experenced teachers.
4. There were not differences in physical education classes between teachers in charge of lower grades students and teachers in charge of higher grades students.
5.There were differences in learning provess and self-actualization value orientation between elementary school teachers and physical education specialists.
