* 1. Mechanical waves(water, sound, seismic(지진)), 2. Electromagnetic waves(x-ray, visible and ultraviolet), 3. Matter waves.(electron, proton,)
17-3. Transverse and Longitudinal waves.
* transverse wave / longitudial wave.
17-4. Wavelength and Frequency.
* y(x,t) = Ym sin(kx - wt). (treansverse sinusodial wave).
- y(x,t) = displacement, Ym = amplitude, sin(kx - wt) = oscillating term,
(kx-wt) = phase, k - angular wave numver, x = position, w=angular frequency
t = time.
* Ym is always positive quantity.
* λ is a wavelength.
* Ym sin kX1 = Ym sin k (X1 + λ) = Ym sin(kX1 + kλ)
- kλ = 2π
* k - . (angular wave number) , SI unit is rad/m.
* - Ym sin wt = - Ym sin w(t + T) = -Ym sin (wt + wT)
- wT = 2π
* w = 2π / T. (angular frequency).
* f = 1/T = w/2π. (frequency).
17-5. The Speed of a Travelling Wave.
* Δx / Δt = v (wave speed).
* kx - wt = a constant. (x와 t는 함께 변함.)
* k dx/dt - w = 0 → dx/dt = v = w / k.
* v = w/k = λ/T = λf. (wave speed).
* y(x,t) = Ym sin(kx + wt). - (opposite direction wave).
* y(x,t) = h( kx ± wt ).
* phase 의 내용은 다 radian measure 임을 상기!!
* u(x,t) = -w Ym cos(kx - wt). (transverse velocity) -transverse displacement 미분
