영어 초록
The core of Youlgok's(栗谷) thought is Sung(誠), Which means Silli(實理). The Pursuing and the practising of Silli(實理) is the substance of Youlgok's(栗谷) thought of Silhak(實學). Grounded on this Sort of Silhak(實學), what kind of values did his thought attach great importance to? That is, what is the structure of his educational values in the thought of Silhak(實學)?Youlgok(栗谷) thought more of a concrete practice than an abstract theory. He laid more stress on the facts and actions than the words, on the practical doing than the theoretical knowledge. As the doing means self• activity, which is spontaneous and direct, it is related to the active learning and self-education.
As the doing is actual and practical, the view of educational values which emphasize it attaches a great importance to the values of actuality, substance and utility. That is to say, it means life-centered educational values which emphasize the standpoint of education for and by living. Because life is always changing, it also attaches importance to the changing know ledge, truth, and value.
As life is social phenomenon, the view of the life-centered educational values are related to the social centered educational values. It values much the social process and participation of social process itself, so it emphasizes social activity, social service and social leadership more than the book-centered learning and education in school or lesson in the classroom.
In the end, this kind of social-centered educational values is the view of educational values which emphasize social values rather than individual ones. Youlgok(栗谷) emphasized the learning by experience much more than• one by books and words-practical and experimental learning by doing and reflexive thinking rather than memorizing and recitation.
From this viewpoint, I believe, the view of educational values in Youlgok's(栗谷) thought of Silhak(實學) is analogious to the theory of modern educational values, so that it is worthy enough to be re-examine.
